Farm Hand - Part-time  CURRENTLY OPEN

We typically milk between 20-23 cows, raise pigs, and care for a small herd of beef cattle. We will be adding chickens in the Spring of 2025. We also grow our own non-GMO alfalfa, hay, and corn. This is a great opportunity to learn about sustainable farming, support local agriculture, and help a 5th generation family farm expand. This position requires a very dependable person, as the animals will count on you for feeding, milking, and other care including some weekends and holidays. Must have the ability to work independently, learn on the job, and be passionate about providing our community with natural healthy food choices. Experience milking and/or working with farm animals is preferred, but we will train the right candidate.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Milking Cows and letting them in and outside
- Cleaning the milking parlor, milk room, and tank
- Feeding and bedding dairy cows, calves and pigs

- Assist with births and calf care as needed
- Basic maintenance and cleaning of the dairy barn including manure removal

- Must pay attention to detail, be able to follow strict cleanliness regulations

- Must be willing to get dirty and smelly, be kind to our animals, and work with a joyful heart, as the energy our animals experience is important to us.

- At times, other tasks will be required, such as cleaning, filling milk jugs for the store, mowing the grass, doing some light landscape maintenance.

Training is $17/hour. Once trained and the candidate can work independently, the pay rate will be $18/hour. This typically takes 6-10 shifts depending on previous experience.

Creamery Position CURRENTLY OPEN

The Creamery Positions are year round on all Mondays 12:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. and most Thursdays 10:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Sanitizing and filling containers with raw milk

- Follow all regulations regarding safe food handling and cleanliness

- Flavor and package our small batch Greek yogurt, cheese, and cheese curds

- Label and date all packaging

- Making cheese and cheese curds

- Cutting wheels of cheese, packaging, and labeling correctly


Training pay rate is $16/hour. Typically after 5-6 shifts (depending on experience) the candidate can work independently and the pay rate will be $18/hour.

Farm Store Brand Ambassador CURRENTLY OPEN

This position is year round. Candidate must be a team player, have calm, kind, friendly energy. This person must be interested in learning about the benefits of clean eating, raw milk, raw honey, etc. to educate our customer base, share information about our farming practices, and believe in what we are doing to provide clean food for our community.

Must be available the following days/hours:

Wednesdays 7:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. or 2 -7:30 p.m. (you'll be scheduled 6 hours, morning OR afternoon)

Thursdays and/or Fridays 10:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m.

Saturdays and/or Sundays 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

This position will be approximately 20 hours each week, part of Wednesday, and all of Thursday and Sunday hours to start, days will vary and will be typically scheduled out 4 weeks in advance. Willing to offer more hours or creamery hours to the right candidate. We believe in family time and support work/life balance. This does not mean we guarantee last minute requests for time off but encourage our team to ask because the worst thing that can happen is that we can't cover it. This position can be made full-time if the candidate also takes the creamery position.

Requirements include but are not limited to:

  • Follow our store policies and have a united front with the team in enforcing them

  • Communicate customer needs/wants to owner

  • Communicate stock fluctuations with owner

  • Manage a till, count out change, do simple math, manage a cash drawer

  • Learn our Point of Sale system on Square & know our products

  • Restock between ringing customers while customers are in store

  • Learn health codes for doing sampling and handling food

  • Perform general store keeping duties, from dusting and sweeping to mopping up spills and decorating for the holidays

  • Work well with others & independently as part of our team

  • Assist when we hold events

  • Assist with packaging products to ship when we transition to online sales

  • Must be willing to cross train to make Yogurt and help with creamery duties should someone be out sick.

  • Other seasonal duties as needed to support the farm store such as watering plants, sweeping in front of the entryway, etc.

Training is $16 until the candidate can work independently, at which time the pay rate will be $18/hour. We are growing. This is NOT a sit around all day on your phone type job. There are many tasks to complete each day. You will be expected to interact with every single customer in a friendly, transparent way educating them on a daily basis. Each candidate moves up to $18 at their own pace. Our newest team member took 4 weeks to get to $18/hour in both creamery and store. Some people take more, some less.

Requirements for ALL FARM POSITIONS above include:

  • Able to lift 40 lbs, follow detailed instructions and pay attention to details

  • Strong communication skills

  • Have a clean driving record

  • Be able to stand for 7 1/2 hours

  • Be available to work mornings, evenings, weekends & holidays as needed

  • Work independently

  • Follow all cleanliness requirements

We are looking for someone who has experience telling people where to park, keeping cars close enough so the area is used to capacity. The right candidate is available on Saturdays and/or Sundays and has experience directing cars and telling people where to park. This position requires you to be outdoors in the field at the Saratoga County Fairgrounds directing traffic. Pay rate is $20 per hour and free entrance to the event. If a non-profit would like to cover these hours we will make a donation for the amount of hours covered.
